[Introduction] Today’s title is ‘Immerse Yourself Wholeheartedly.’ That means ‘with all our heart and might.’ In other words, it means ‘only’, ‘concentration’, and ‘all-in’. Encouraging Timothy spiritually, Apostle Paul commanded him to immerse himself wholeheartedly without neglecting any little parts of his ministry. One of the things that we are easily deceived by is maintaining the status quo. In other words, it is to think “That’s enough.” When you begin to think ‘I don’t have to do that much’ or ‘It’s just enough when I go to church on Sunday. I don’t understand the people so passionate in the walk of faith’, you will become a prey of Satan. The walk of faith is to be renewed every day. Apostle Paul pressed on in faith to carry out the mission given by Christ throughout his life. I bless you in the name of the Lord that may all Yewon believers restore the passion that Apostle Paul had and taste the answer of becoming the pillars in the temple of God.
1. Gospel Roots, Imprints, and Nature
In 1 Timothy 4:10-11, ‘for to this end’ means the training of godliness. It is to be rooted, imprinted and natured with Jesus Christ. There was a reason why Apostle Paul repeatedly encouraged Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12-13. At that time, there were some people who looked down on him because he was young. To be ‘young’ originally refers to the people whose age is in the range of the age of military recruits to 40 but here it is used to describe Timothy who was in his late thirties and lacked in experience compared to the elders of the church. Because he could face many difficulties among older elders and believers due to his young age, Apostle Paul encouraged him to establish his authority by setting a spiritual example. Authority cannot be established by just few words. It can be so when you become a good example of a believer through your true life. It is important that we enjoy the Gospel first. I bless you in the name of the Lord that may all Yewon believers be touched by the Gospel even in your subconsciousness so you can live the victorious life under any circumstances.
2. One Heart, Whole Heart, and Continuation
In 1 Timothy 4:14-16, Apostle Paul emphasizes that spiritual maturity and growth of faith must take place in our lives every day. That is setting a reasonable attitude, which is an example for believers, and devoting ourselves to the public reading of Scripture, exhortation, and teachings. Especially, what we must spiritually immerse ourselves is to grow by the Word of God and live the life of exerting spiritual influence. Peter 3:18, Ephesians 4:15, and 1 Corinthians 4:15 repeatedly emphasize it to us. We must grab hold of two growth points which are God’s word and field. You can diagnose your spiritual status when you preach the Word of God in your fields and your spiritual growth takes place in the fields. I bless all the Yewon believers in the name of the Lord to preach the Gospel of uniqueness with one heart, whole heart, and continuously and grow spiritually.
[Conclusion] These days, some people insist that Christianity and Islam look like they go their separate ways but in fact go towards the same God. Moreover, they even insist to merge and call them ‘Chrislam’ which is the amalgamation of the names. They say that all religions in this world worship God so all religions should be combined into one. We must look at the spiritual status of the field that deceives people and tells untruth as truth and pray for it. Also we must become true evangelists. We must change the flow of the field filled with the culture of darkness into the culture of the Gospel. As a change maker, you should have the consciousness of heavenly mandate that God have called us. I bless you in the name of the Lord that may all Yewon believers spiritually immerse yourselves without being shaken under any circumstances and boldly stand as the pillars of saving souls, the construction of the main sanctuary, and world mission.
