2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

“Let Us Live Experience Taste of Believing in Jesus”
Last week, I went to the Vanuatu evangelism conference. The reason why we are having this kind of overseas conference is because this is the will of God. In Mark 16:1, it says, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” We are following the word as it is. The walk of faith is nothing else but realizing where God`s will is, and doing that will. We should give our all-in to this ministry by one heart, whole heart, and continuation. This is the biblical walk of faith. I bless all the Yewon believers to live the worthiest life while only doing the will of God.

1. Spiritual Daily Progress (verses 12-14)
Apostle John compared spiritual growth to the physical age in today`s scripture reading. He emphasizes that, it is natural to grow as a mature believer in our everyday lives. In order to make spiritual growth, we should be born again first. Spiritual growth starts from the moment that we receive forgiveness of sins though Jesus Christ.
Apostle John explained this by three age groups according to maturity of faith and encourages what kind of lives they should live. The first kind is little children. It means "a person who lacks experience." A man who has just started to know Jesus Christ and God and whose sins were forgiven. The second kind is young men. They are, following, accepting God's word in their life and finally winning a victory in spiritual fight. The last one is fathers. In this passage, knowing is not to know something knowledgeable but to know something from experience. In other words, they grew up with their faith by experiencing a variety of spiritual experience. I bless you to have spiritual influence everywhere bravely as a child of God.

2. Spiritual Single Minded Devotion
Apostle John emphasizes that you must not love the things in the world. And John gives us two reasons why we must not love the world. First is the fact that you cannot love the world and God at the same time. Second is as written in verse 17, the things in God is forever but the things in the world is temporary, which means they should disappear later on.
John says the things in the world that make you stand against God come down to three(1John 2:16). First, the desires of the flesh literally means desires that we physically feel. Desires that we only pursue the physical satisfaction, which make us stand against God. Second, the desires of the eyes refer to desires that go into us though the things seen from our eyes. Third, pride in possessions means bragging about the physical life that will perish. Satan’s attacks that gave him temporary success in Genesis 3 turned into a complete failure. Jesus solved all the problems on the cross, resurrected and ascended, giving us eternal life and true life. May Yewon believers experience all the hidden treasures of wisdoms and knowledge in Christ and grow up spiritually with an attitude of constant spiritual growth.

Conclusion
We are able to see that even if we are going through difficulties because of the Gospel, it is God who takes charge of us and He never ignores adversities that we have suffered from. The dedication for the Gospel is not in vain. God compensates us for not only complete and eternal blessings but the life in this world. May all of Yewon believers hold onto the fact that the life for God’s Will and commitment for His calling remain forever, and stand as a true disciple who influence spiritually every day.
