|2:8||Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:|
|2:9||Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.|

|2:13||If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.|
Today is Easter Sunday. Easter is when the world celebrates the incident of a person being alive from death. The resurrection of Christ Jesus, who is the main character, is the core of the Christian faith. Today’s title is God’s winning move! Resurrection is the winning move that God had to use to save humanity. The cross without resurrection, and resurrection without the cross cannot save humanity. Resurrection makes it clear that Jesus is the Christ and that all our sins are washed away. Because of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, all of our problems of sin are resolved. Amen? Resurrection is a sign that all of our problems of sin are completely resolved. This is why the missionaries of the early church preached about resurrection. I bless all the Yewon believers that may you be the preachers who believe and preach in the living God of resurrection.
1. The Gospel of Resurrection
The core of the Gospel that Apostle Paul emphasized through today’s passage is Jesus Christ who was the seed of David and who resurrected. In Romans 1:2-4, he emphasized the Gospel that God prepared for people is about God’s son, Jesus Christ. As prophets had predicted his presence in the times of the Old Testament and according to this prediction, He came to Earth with a body and by the bloodline of David. That man is the Christ named Jesus, who is the Messiah. He showed us that all our sin and curses are resolved perfectly by his resurrection. In 2 Timothy 1:10, Apostle Paul emphasizes that our Savior Christ Jesus, who eliminated death and brought life and eternal life to light through the Gospel.
According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Our life is valuable thanks to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and thus; we can live with the living hope. And we have the blessing of eternality. In 1 Corinthians, Apostle Paul said, If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. I bless all Yewon believers to live a winning life and for the Gospel of Resurrection to become a rooted, imprinted, and natured. Regard this spiritually though any circumstance.
2. The Unbounded News of Resurrection
In 2 Tim 1:9-10, Apostle Paul mentioned that even if he was bounded with chains as a criminal for the sake of the Gospel, the Gospel would never be bounded. Although Apostle Paul was under this kind of suffering, he saw himself dwelling in the eternal glory, which is to come with the resurrection of the Lord. In verses 11-13, he explains in more detail that he will live the eternal life with the Lord of resurrection and that he will reign with the Lord in the future. Apostle Paul especially emphasizes the gospel is never bounded, no matter what circumstance may come.
One of the features of the ones who received the news of resurrection first in the Bible was the fact that they relayed this news right away. One of the preachers expressed this in the a message making it into a pun saying, “Finally, Mary Magdalene became Snow White.” What does this mean? He said, Snow White had a big mouth, going around blabbing around. Like this, Mary Magdalene went around telling people about this. At that time, people were prohibited to mention Jesus, who was crucified as a sinner. But the disciples who received the news of resurrection had no choice but to preach it. I bless all Yewon believers to live as a preacher to save souls and stand as a pillar of salvation in the name of the Lord.
Last February, ISIS beheaded 21 Egyptian Christian believers. In this footage, the Egyptians mumbled something at the brink of having their heads cut off. It was them praying that Jesus is the Christ. They were Egyptian workers who went to Libya for their job. This incident gave the world a big shock. One of the victims was from Chad Republic and he was a non-believer. He did not have any belief towards Jesus Christ until he saw the faith that the rest of the victims had had. But at the moment whether to deny Christianity or to proclaim the Gospel, he shouted out that their God was his God. He chose to live just for that one minute as a Christian. His family made a confession saying they are proud of him. We are able to recognize that the cause that made this miraculous change and confession lies on the living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our problems have completely been solved by having the winning move of God already. I hope all of Yewon believers to stand confidently as a pillar of the extension of God’s kingdom.
