“Let us experience fulfilment of God’s word”
There are always signs before something happens. Likewise, a lot of signs can be seen before the last days as we studied last Sunday. One of the significant signs is that people are falling for themselves with the love of money and pleasure – it was stressed that we ought to escape from this kind of trend and be God-centred. Then what on earth is the God-centred life? In today’s passage Apostle Paul lets us know the specific answer – that is, our lives should be word-driven. When your life is driven by the Word, you can be the victor who stands firm in the face of trouble.
The moment our lives become God-centred, we will see that for those who love God all things does work together for good. I bless in the name of our Lord may all Yewon believers stop going back and forth between good and bad in becoming pillars in the temple of God.
1. Know-How of Spiritual Victory
Apostle Paul says one of the omen of the last days is that people who deceives and get deceived. While it is getting worse, Paul shares his know-how of how to gain a spiritual victory – that is, to learn and have firm belief.
This message can be taught in 3 different ways; to have a spiritual victory, first you need to LEARN.
He mentions that Timothy has been acquainted with the sacred writings from childhood and what we need to learn is this sacred writings, that is the Word. But yet it was the kind of informational faith until he met Paul and really experienced that Jesus is Christ, which is the authentic Gospel. He finally realized that the Christ prophesied in the Old Testament is Jesus.
Secondly, we should live with confidence to win spiritually. We realize the way of salvation through the Word of God, and by believing we receive the privilege to be God’s children. However, Satan continuously deceives us in our lives with doubts. The solution to solve these doubts is to realize the Word of God continuously. The Word centered on the walk of faith will not be shaken. It will stand firmly as days go by.
Third, we should continue in what we have learned and have firm belief to win spiritually. It means we should apply the Word of God in our lives continuously. When you read the Bible and hear the Word from the pulpit, if you have mind that God is personally speaking to you, you will approach to the word more realistically.
If you take pulpit message as the word of God, it will work realistically in your life. I hope you believe that the word of God is living and active. I bless all of Yewon believers in the name of the Lord that one has an evidence to have a spiritual influence by applying God’s Word to your everyday life.
2. The Word that Makes Whole
We were given Salvation through the word of God. But also after the life of the Salvation, we should be guided through the Word. The one who is completely fitted stands for to be fully prepared and trained for God’s will. At the same time, he clarifies that the Bible is made by God’s impression. God made a spiritual impression on us to write the Bible. All of the prophecies written in the Bible have been fulfilled and are being fulfilled. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. As the word of God is competent itself, it leads us to be competent in our lives.
Yewon believers! God’s word-rooted life is different. I hope you raise your children to live a whole life with the Bible, God’s Word that will definitely be fulfilled. Especially, you will have representative blessing to change this age when you make your children be rooted with God’s Word since they are young like Timothy. The children who habituate themselves to covenant are not easily frustrated even if they experience failures and they live a winner’s life. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may become a model of conveying a covenant like this.
There is an inscription called ‘God is telling us’ inside the Lübeck Cathedral, Germany.
If you only listen to God’s message and you don’t act, your life is meaningless. You should not just say it and think it. God’s word is not lip service.
Pastor George Truett said ‘The greatest knowledge that human beings can have is to know God’s will and the greatest work that human beings can do is to fulfill God’s will.’ Amen?
I hope all Yewon believers taste the greatest fulfillment acting according to God’s will, not staying on the level to just know God’s will. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may live a life bound by God’s hands and leave historic, representative and monumental spiritual footprints as time goes by.
