|2:1||My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:|
|2:2||And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.|
|2:3||And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.|
|2:4||He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.|
|2:5||But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.|
|2:6||He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.|
Last week, we had concentration early morning prayer titled Jesus Christ who is Alpha and Omega. We had five topics, which are essential to living a walk of faith in our entire life. “Let’s go through with our original intention to the end! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! With single-minded devotion! Make steady progress! Be majestic!” Amen?
The thing we must not lose hold of is we’re living in God’s grace. No matter what people say, you are the ones whom God takes special care of. Your life is perfectly assured. If you die, you will go to Heaven. Your life is perfectly assured like this but why are you so caught up by introductory things? Don’t be deceived by Satan. When you meditate on the early morning prayer messages, a new grace will be given by the Holy Spirit. I bless in the name of Jesus Christ that all Yewon believers become the pillar of God’s temple enjoying the joy of growing by Grace.
1. Christ who Restores
One of the biggest obstacles to our spiritual growth is condemnation. And what Satan always does is condemn us. His strategy is to make you condemn yourself, condemn others and eventually break apart churches that God established. Apostle Paul says that we must live a life with a sense of grace, not with a sense of condemnation.
And Apostle John is intensively telling us that the life in grace with God cannot be experienced by human being’s power and endeavor, but only by righteous Jesus Christ. The word ‘a spokesperson’ literally stands for a person who speaks for someone. Apostle John emphasizes that no one but righteous Jesus Christ is your only spokesperson.Jesus Christ who has already known our weakness, immaturity and sins is defending and supporting us in front of God. God cannot help but reach the verdict of forgiveness in the court of heaven as long as Jesus says ‘the blood of redemption’. Apostle John clarifies that Jesus Christ is a propitiation for us. He had chosen to become the propitiation for the sake of His Will to recover us. In Leviticus chapter 9, you can find the meaning of propitiation: the sacrifice to God to prevent the wrath of God from all of sins committed by human beings. This propitiation includes the core of Christianity and the fundamental problem. God is just for every person, however, with the righteous standard of God, we cannot meet the standard as we are being easily confused by Satan, committing sins. Nevertheless, God loves us but God’s righteousness has to be satisfied.
Through the valuable and priceless life of Jesus Christ, we ought to rejoice with the restored fellowship with God. Through the restored fellowship with God, may all of Yewon believers abide in His grace and happily live a walk of faith.
2. The Life Carried Out by Grace
When we see today’s scripture, it seems that Apostle John was emphasizing ‘doing’ repeatedly. However, we need to see it carefully because he did not say to do unconditionally. People who have restored the good fellowship with God through Jesus Christ will do this naturally by grace. Especially, Apostle John mentioned about keeping the word and the commandments in today’s scripture.
In Matt. 22:34-40, the key point of the commandments that God has given us is to love the God and neighbor. In other words, through the lively fellowship with God, you can taste the love and share it to your neighbor. It is how we keep God’s commandments and words. What was the key point of life that Jesus lived after he came to this earth? Why was he crucified and suffered by many hardships? There is nothing but to save the souls. ‘333 movement’, ‘That one person’, ‘main sanctuary construction’ and ‘Oversea evangelism camp’. We are doing these things with all-in mind for making us have life and have it abundantly. I bless you to deliver the Gospel of life and invite someone to our church, being thankful about God's grace given to us.
In Acts 6:8, by the time Stephen had a great influence as an early church layleader, he referred to as the origin of influence like this. 8And Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people. Grace and power are always going together. So, Satan disturbs us not to receive grace of God in some way or other. I want you to see specifically the spiritual principle that can let you grow. Once God's grace comes to us, then we can grow spiritually with that power of grace and also influence spiritually. I want all Yewon believers to commit your full attention to your jobs for you to be given grace of God in spite of any circumstances. And also I bless you in Jesus name to live your victorious life with the power of God and to stand proudly before God as a pillar of salvation, construction of the main sanctuary and world-evangelization.
